Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Pernambuco (2003) and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (2010), in addition to two Post-Doctorates (FCF-USP and FCM-Unicamp), Edgar always found it very difficult to do something that really stood out on Lattes. During his Ph.D., he tried to save the world from environmental pollution by developing a bioprocess for the degradation of textile dyes. Let's say that, after a lot of research, the world still considers textile dye disposal a serious problem. He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia in the Biotechnology course and loves being a professor. He has been there since 2012. He founded the Biotechnological Processes Laboratory in 2019, where he works with the selection of microorganisms for agricultural, industrial and environmental use. He is still the coordinator of the laboratory and doesn't even know how to live outside the lab anymore. Despite everything, Edgar continues to try to change the world.  

Graduado em Ciências Biológicas pela Universidade de Pernambuco (2003) e Doutor em Engenharia Química pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2010), além de dois Pós-Doutorados (FCF-USP e FCM-Unicamp), Edgar sempre achou muito difícil fazer algo que realmente chamasse atenção no Lattes. Durante o seu doutorado, tentou salvar o mundo da poluição ambiental, desenvolvendo um bioprocesso para degradação de corantes têxteis. Digamos que, depois de muita pesquisa, o mundo ainda tem o descarte de corantes têxteis como um problema sério. Atualmente é professor da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia no curso de Biotecnologia e ama ser professor. Está lá desde 2012. Fundou o Laboratório de Processos Biotecnológicos em 2019, onde trabalha com seleção de micro-organismos para uso agrícola, industrial e ambiental. É coordenador do laboratório até hoje e já nem sabe mais viver fora do laboratório. Apesar de tudo, Edgar continua tentando mudar o mundo.
