About the Program

The Master’s Degree Program in Chemistry at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) is designed to provide advanced academic and scientific training for graduates aiming to deepen their knowledge in the field of Chemistry. With a strong emphasis on research and innovation, the program offers students the opportunity to work closely with experienced faculty members across diverse areas of chemistry, such as materials science, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, theoretical chemistry, environmental chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and related fields.

Objectives

The primary objectives of the Master’s program are:

  • To provide advanced, in-depth knowledge in various subfields of Chemistry.
  • To train professionals capable of contributing to scientific and technological development through innovative research.
  • To prepare graduates for teaching at higher education institutions and for high-level professional activities in research centers, industries, and public or private organizations.
  • To stimulate critical thinking, scientific communication, and an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving.
  • To promote scientific production and the dissemination of knowledge at national and international levels.

Infrastructure

The program offers a robust infrastructure that supports both education and high-level research. Students have access to:

  • Modern laboratories equipped for experimental work in physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and electrochemistry.
  • Specialized research equipment, including high-resolution NMR spectrometers, mass spectrometers, chromatographs (GC and HPLC), X-ray diffractometers, spectrophotometers, and electrochemical analysis instruments.
  • Computational resources for theoretical and computational chemistry research.
  • Library services with a wide range of scientific journals, digital databases, and specialized collections.
  • Common spaces for study, seminars, meetings, and collaborative research activities.
  • Support services for laboratory management, technical assistance, and safety protocols.
