The admission process of PPGQUI-UFU for both Master's and PhD degree courses is semmestral. For complete information, please CLICK HERE.
1. WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR:
For the Masters' degree course, the candidate positions are destined to graduates from long-term undergraduate courses (full graduation) recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEC-Brazil) in the area of Chemistry. Exceptionally, with authorization from the Collegiate, long-term undergraduate courses (full graduation) recognized by MEC in the areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Physics may be accepted, in view of the question interdisciplinary.
2. GENERAL REQUIREMENT:
Required Documents for Foreign Students
Proof of Undergraduate Studies
Validated diploma or certificate in a field accepted by the program.
Proof of Legal Status in Brazil
Valid visa/residency permit (e.g., RNE, passport with visa).
Portuguese Language Proficiency (Non-Lusophone candidates only)
Option 1: Certificate from UFU’s PROFLIN (Portuguese for Foreigners, via ILEEL-UFU).
Option 2: CELPE-BRAS certificate (official MEC exam, details here).
Note: Must meet the same validity rules as other language certificates.
3. Applications follow the process described in a document named “Edital” (Call for Applications), which is available in Portuguese at https://ppgqui.iq.ufu.br/en/servicos/admission-process Selection Process is annual and usually takes place in the last half of the year, with admissions in the following year.
4. Selection process: The PPGQUI Admission Process takes place in the last half of every year as established in specific Calls (named “Editais”) published in Portuguese on our website. The process is carried out by UFU’s Admission Process Board (DIRPS).
