Drug delivery systems, cell inactivation through photoactive compounds, analysis of cytotoxicity and antioxidant potential of natural products from the Cerrado;
Forensic biochemistry;
Synthesis, characterization, and study of the anti-tumor and antibacterial activity of metal complexes of ruthenium (II), platinum (II), palladium (II), and copper (II);
Development of nanostructures, macromolecules, and materials using metal ions as the building blocks [e.g. Cu (II), Ag (I), Au (I), Au (III), Pt (II), Pt (IV), and Pd (II)], commercial drugs, synthetic ligands, peptides, proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, aptamers and "host/guest" systems. Investigation of how the association of these assembly blocks in nanostructures / well-defined materials affects the activity of these compounds in the face of applications of interest, especially medical and environmental;
Synthesis and characterization of coordination compounds and interactions with biological molecules in order to understand their bioactive properties in models of transport macromolecules and cell biology. Interest in photochemical studies and photobiology of coordination compounds as nitric oxide donor agents, as well as reactive oxygen species;
Development of bionanomaterials as fluorescent tubes;
Investigation of the photochemical and photophysical properties of coordination compounds for applications in the conversion of solar energy, solar cells, artificial photosynthesis, and other molecular devices;
Determination of experimental and theoretical parameters (based on the application of quantum theory methods), photophysical and photochemical systems of photoactive systems, characterization, as well as technological applications such as adjuvants in photocatalysts in photocatalytic processes mediated by solar radiation (environmental photocatalysis, hydrogen production, energy conversion, among others).
