  • Development of analytical methods with portable characteristics involving electroanalytical methods (amperometric and voltammetric detection systems as well as capillary and microchip electrophoresis) for application in the agribusiness, food, environmental, biofuel and pharmaceutical areas.
  • Development of electrochemical sensors based on electrodes modified with nanostructured materials (carbon nanotubes, graphene, metal oxides, etc.) and electroactive films.
  • Application of low-cost materials and tools to develop electroanalytical methods: paper-based devices, conductive inks, and 3D printing.
  • Development of biosensors for detecting human diseases by depositing functionalized polymeric films or nanocomposites on conductive materials for immobilizing biomolecules such as DNA fragments, enzymes, antibodies and biological tissues applied to the detection of infectious and genetic diseases, contaminants in food and detection of environmental pollutants.
  • Development of reprocessing routes for cathodic materials from lithium ion batteries by chemical or biohydrometallurgical route, development of biodegradable or non-biodegradable solid polymer electrolytes using ionic liquids, and synthesis of composite materials of conductive polymers (polypyrrole, polyaniline and polyethylene) with nanotubes of interleaving carbon or oxides.
